Unit 10 Skills Review

You will be required to demonstrate a mastery of the following skills on the Unit 10 Test.

1)  Recognize the Degree of a Term and the Degree of a Polynomial Expression

2)  Add & Subtract Polynomial Expressions
In order for terms to be LIKE TERMS they must share the exact same variables EACH to the same power

3)  Multiply Polynomials and write the answer in simplified form

You may use FOIL, Double Distribution, or the AREA MODEL to perform the multiplication.  Be careful with your signs!

4)  Factor Quadratic Polynomials; 

ALWAYS look for common factors FIRST

"Factoring Out" the 4x in the above expression will save you time and effort!

Recognize "SPECIALS" of "Difference of Squares", "Product of a Sum" and "Product of a Difference"
