Intercepts

The x-intercept of a line is the value of x when y = 0.

The y-intercept of a line is the value of y when x = 0.

Consider:

You are planning a fund-raising dinner.  Your goal is to raise $1500.  Based on the attendance of last year's dinner (200 adults and 100 children), how much should you charge for an adult ticket and a child ticket?
